Spay & Neutering is only the beginning of the wide range of surgical procedures that our doctors perform at BEVC. Such soft tissue or orthopedic procedures consist of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Repair, Cystotomy, Feline Declaws and Lump Removals.
While undergoing these anesthetic procedures, your family pet will receive the highest level of care and constant monitoring by one of our trained technicians.

Prior to any surgery, the doctor will conduct a comprehensive physical examination to ensure that your pet appears to be healthy for surgery.  The technician staff will obtain your pet's vital signs; bloodwork samples, blood pressure and/or IV catheter placement if applicable.

We highly recommend that all pets over the age of 5-years undergo a pre-anesthetic blood test prior to their surgery. This simple test is done in-house and provides the doctor with helpful information about your pet's liver, kidneys and other internal organs. It reveals their ability to metabolize the medication when we anesthetize them.

Many health problems start in the mouth. Plaque, tartar, periodontal disease, and infected teeth serve as a source of inflammation and infection for the rest of the body. There are many ways that you can help your veterinarian to provide a healthy mouth for your pet.

Our dental services here at BEVC include teeth cleaning, polishing, tooth extractions and if necessary, minor oral surgery. A regular cleaning is important to maintain your pet's health at any age. When using our ultrasound equipment, each tooth is thoroughly cleaned above and below the gum line. The dental technicians polish the teeth to create a smooth surface that is more resistant to plaque buildup. Our dental services also include tooth extractions and oral surgery as needed.

Please ask our staff or your veterinarian of our upcoming Dental Specials.

One of the most common and valuable medical tools is radiography or X-rays. X-rays are highly useful for screening areas of the body that have contrasting tissue densities or when evaluating solid tissues. Our clinic is equipped to perform routine radiology services to identify many types of illness or injury when pets are sick or suffer a trauma.
X-rays can be used to detect a variety of ailments including arthritis, different forms of cancers, lung diseases including pneumonia, bladder and kidney stones. They are also used to evaluate bone damage, organ integrity and identify foreign objects that may have been ingested. Our skilled veterinarians and technicians will take X-rays as a part of a diagnostic procedure if your pet is experiencing any health conditions or as preventive measure in a routine senior wellness examination.

Having convenient and immediate access to the many preventive and therapeutic medicines at our Clinic ensures pets can start recommended medications right away. If you need to refill your pet’s medication, please call our office and our staff will authorize your refill and prepare it for your direct pick up.

The convenience of seeing your pet's doctor and being able to pick up your pet's prescription medication on a single visit reduces the time and cost you may incur both on the original visit and any future medication refill visits.

Here at BEVC we offer a variety of in-house laboratory procedures, ranging from preventative screenings, CBC's and fecal testing. Some of these procedures can be obtained within 30 minutes, allowing our doctors to diagnose and begin treatment of an illness in a timely manner. Our in-house laboratory equipment also enables us to evaluate your pet's liver and kidney function prior to surgical procedures reducing the risks of anesthesia.

There are times when more through and complex testing is required. For these cases we access our local laboratory specializing in animal diagnostics. Most results are reported back to our clinic within 12 to 24 hours.

We are pleased to offer our clients state-of-the-art Laser Surgery. This surgical tool is revolutionizing the way surgery is performed. Laser technology reduces the trauma to your pet and improves recovery.

The Laser is a device that generates an intense beam of light at a specific wavelength. It can be precisely controlled allowing only a thin layer of tissue to be removed, leaving the surrounding area unaffected. There are several advantages to carbon dioxide Laser surgery.

1. Pain Reduction
The Laser seals nerve endings as it "cuts." This results in decreased pain for our special friends.

2. Swelling Reduction
Laser energy does not crush, tear or bruise tissue because the only thing that touches your pet is an invisible beam of light.

3. Control of Infection
The Laser beam operates at a temperature of over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Essentially bacteria are vaporized by contact with the laser beam. This makes it highly effective at killing bacteria that have potential to cause an infection. This is particularly important in areas where it is difficult to prevent bacteria from contaminating the surgical site.

4. Precision
The Laser can remove unhealthy tissue while minimizing adverse
effects to healthy surrounding tissue.

5. Less Bleeding
The Laser seals small blood vessels during surgery, which allows our doctor to perform surgeries with extraordinary precision. This also speeds some procedures reducing the amount of anesthesia required. A Laser is ideal for a wide variety of surgical procedures for dogs, cats, and exotics. Laser surgery can correct many common conditions such as cysts, tumors, warts, and special procedures around the eyes, ears and mouth. De-clawing cats with a Laser drastically decreases post-operative discomfort allowing normal function much sooner

6. Recovery Time is Reduced
Less swelling, bleeding and post-operative discomfort results in a shorter recovery period for your pet.
